Global Impact: West Africa

Community Church is excited to work side-by-side with missionaries in an extremely poor region of West Africa. This area suffers from recurring droughts, and military and political unrest. Currently, there are more than 27 unreached people groups in this region. We will have the opportunity to serve with them as we share the hope and love of Jesus in practical, tangible, life-giving ways.

On our inaugural West Africa trip, we will partake in different ways to impact the unreached people groups by working side-by-side with missionaries already in place. Some of the activities we will be participating in include children’s ministry, women’s ministry, open-air evangelism, pastoral/leadership training, and possibly well-drilling! Outreach can also be tailored for individuals with medical training or carpentry skills.
This trip is open to individuals 18 years and older. Leaders of Community Church are strongly encouraged to participate.

The team will stay in the mission house while in the capital city; overnight stay in villages will be tent camping.
Most food will be familiar and plentiful while staying in the city, items such as pancakes and peanut butter, rice and vegetables, and different kinds of meat. Food will be packed for traveling into the more remote villages.
Lightweight, light-colored, comfortable clothing is recommended. Business casual attire – collared shirts and casual slacks for men, long skirts, dresses, and shirts that provide good coverage for women – will greatly enhance credibility. A more detailed packing list will be provided during the initial team training.
